Newly-Discovered Species of Parasitic Wasp Named after Brad Pitt

An international team of scientists has described a previously unknown species of wasp (less than 2 mm) from South Africa and has named it Conobregma bradpitti, after the American actor and producer Brad Pitt.
“These wasps lay their eggs into a host, which once parasitized starts hardening,” explained Dr. Buntika Butcher from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, lead author of a paper published online in the journal ZooKeys.
Oh well, I have no idea why they thought of charming Brad Pitt’s name when they looked at this ugly bug.
